LIbrary/Art is such a fun special! The kids had a choice to do art or build cool structures/sculptures. How fun to discover art comes in different forms. Ms. Hooks is doing an amazing job in Library/Art!! GOOD JOB GOOD JOB!!!

First Grades showcase was a success!!! They did an Animal Adaptation Module and learned all about Animals and their environments. They looked into the locomotion, food, protection, and camouflage adaptations. Designed a traveler for their designated environment, and designed a show for their traveler in that environment. Way to go first grade!! GOOD JOB GOOD JOB!!

First Grade Showcase
The Kindergarten with the Jack and the Beanstalk portion of our PLTW module on structure and function. The kids had to build a beanstalk with 5 pipe cleaners and they had to see if they could build it to be as tall as possible with it being freestanding, and then we measured with different non-standard units like glue sticks, unified cubes, and eggs to compare the heights.

5th grade showcase information
In this module Living Things: Diversity of Life, students are exploring the question, “Do plants need water and sunlight to grow?” They are acting as scientists by planning and carrying out an investigation to find evidence that answers this question. Working in small groups, students test how sunlight and water affect plant growth.

Throughout the project, students are observing and measuring their plants, recording the results, and discussing what they learned. By the end, they use their data to explain whether plants need sunlight and water to grow to help them understand how scientists use evidence to answer questions.
