CHSFA students in Mrs. Anthony's classroom are using a CLAVES strategy called a "Gallery Walk". This teaching strategy allows students to work together to collaborate over a learned concept in class, such as inferences in the text and backing them up with textual evidence. Students had to respond to four questions about "Lamb to the Slaughter" Part 1. They were asked to focus on an author's stylistic choices as well as supporting their responses with evidence.
Each student received a Post-It note to add textual evidence for a question, which teaches them to go back to the text to find facts to support their answers. They are able to add their ideas to each area, then collaborate and discuss which piece of textual evidence best supports the answer.
Shout out to Mrs. Anthony for using engaging strategies to encourage student growth and learning, and to her students for the hard work they put into the Gallery Walk.
