FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 28, 2025

Clovis, NM - Clovis High School is proud to celebrate alumnus Bryce Cabeldue, who was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the 192nd overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft this past weekend.

Cabeldue, a standout offensive lineman for the Kansas Jayhawks, becomes the second player in Clovis High School history to be drafted into the NFL, following in the footsteps of Hank Baskett III. His selection also marks a major milestone for New Mexico, as he is the first player from the state to be drafted into the NFL in six years.

At Kansas, Cabeldue distinguished himself as a reliable and versatile presence on the offensive line, starting for four years at both left and right tackle. His talent and work ethic were further highlighted at the East-West Shrine Bowl, where his performance at guard helped lead the East team to a 25-0 victory. Measuring 6-foot-4 and 308 pounds, Cabeldue impressed scouts with his strength, agility, and quickness, running a 4.95-second 40-yard dash and recording 30 bench press reps at Big 12 Pro Day.

Just days before the draft, Cabeldue visited with the Clovis High School football team, sharing advice, encouragement, and personal stories about his journey from Wildcat to Jayhawk to NFL prospect. His visit left a lasting impression on student-athletes and staff alike, underscoring the values of hard work and perseverance.

Cabeldue now joins a Seattle Seahawks draft class focused on bolstering the offensive line, with plans to transition him to a guard position in the NFL. His selection highlights his potential to make an immediate impact, helping to strengthen a Seahawks team that identified the offensive line as a key area for improvement.

Bryce Cabeldue’s success is a proud moment for Clovis High School and an inspiration for future Wildcats.
