In celebration of FFA Week, we are excited to spotlight some of our outstanding freshman FFA members and recognize the ways they are already getting involved and representing our chapter. Today our spotlights are Kian Carling and Andrew Stephenson!

Kian Carling :
“I joined FFA this fall and I’m really glad I did. I’m proud to be part of such a great organization. FFA kind of runs in my family because both of my older brothers were in it, and they inspired me to join too. Seeing everything they got to do made me excited to finally be in FFA myself.
Right now I’m on the Forestry CDE team, and my teammates and I have been studying and practicing to get ready for contests around New Mexico. I’ve learned a lot about trees, forestry skills, and how to work better as a team. This past Saturday I competed in my first Forestry contest and our team placed 6th, which was really exciting.
FFA has already helped me try new things, meet new people, and learn a lot. I’m looking forward to competing in more contests, getting better at Forestry, and staying involved in FFA throughout high school. 🌲”

Andrew Stephenson:
“FFA has been an amazing journey for me so far. From competing on the Greenhand quiz team to competing in Entomology, it has been one of my favorite things I’ve done this year and probably will be throughout my high school career. Being able to represent our chapter and compete has been such an honor. I’m really thankful for the opportunity and for everyone who has supported me along the way.”
