FFA

In celebration of FFA Week, we are excited to spotlight some of our outstanding freshman FFA members and recognize the ways they are already getting involved and representing our chapter. Today our spotlights are Adyson Greene and Emma Loper!

Adyson Greene :

FFA

“My time in the FFA community has truly been a dream. I’ve made new friends and experienced new ways of learning about the many wonders of my state’s wildlife. During my time in FFA, I’ve also learned to be less afraid of speaking in front of others. Opportunities like reciting the creed and helping others have helped me gain more confidence.

I also had the chance to attend an FFA Discovery Camp, where I learned a lot about what it means to be part of the FFA community and what opportunities were ahead of me. A couple of weeks ago, I started competing in CDEs and began learning some really interesting things about livestock and wildlife. I was even able to participate in my first wildlife competition. My team placed 14th out of 70 teams and I received 11th overall individual.

At first, I faced a few challenges, but with the help of my teachers and teammates, I kept pushing forward. In the end, our wildlife team placed 14th in our first competition, which made all the hard work worth it. I’m very thankful for everyone who has helped and supported me during my time in FFA, and I’m excited to continue this journey and see where it takes me. 🌾🦌”

Emma Loper:

FFA

“I was involved in 4-H as a child because my family has a strong background in agriculture. I showed pigs at the county fair with a family friend, and that’s where I first fell in love with the fair atmosphere and all of the different projects and activities. When I got to high school, I knew I wanted to stay involved in agriculture and continue being part of something like that.

Joining FFA felt like the perfect choice, and it has been even better than I expected. Through FFA, I’ve had many opportunities to learn and grow by participating in contests, events, and different activities. I’ve also developed leadership skills and learned how to work well with others. Our chapter really feels like a family. Even though everyone has their own personalities and strengths, we all come together and support each other.

Being part of FFA has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I’m excited to stay involved and continue growing through it for years to come.”
