In celebration of FFA Week, we are excited to spotlight some of our outstanding freshman FFA members and recognize the ways they are already getting involved and representing our chapter. Today our spotlights are Joshua Williams and Kaeden O’Doherty!

Joshua Williams :
“One of the activities I participate in through FFA is Food Science, and it has been a really unique experience for me. Being in FFA has given me a new perspective on what farmers and people in agriculture go through to produce the food we eat every day. Before joining, I never realized how much work, knowledge, and dedication goes into agriculture. Through Food Science and FFA, I’ve been able to learn more about where our food comes from and gain a greater appreciation for the people who work hard to provide it. It has also been a great opportunity to try new things, work with others, and be part of something that really matters.”

Kaeden O’Doherty:
“My experience in FFA this year was different from what I expected, but in a good way. It has been a lot of fun, and I’ve spent a lot of time studying and preparing for contests. This was also the first time I’ve competed on a team like this, which made it a really interesting experience. Earlier this year I competed on the Greenhand Quiz team, and right now I am competing in the Nursery/Landscape contest.
Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I definitely want to do it again next year so I can improve and do even better. Throughout the year I’ve learned a lot, not just about the contests but also about important life skills. FFA has helped teach me how to work hard, stay focused, and do my best even when I’m feeling pressure. It has been a great opportunity for me, and I feel like it’s a good start toward the kind of future I want to have.”
