Field Trip

CHSFA  ESL and SLA students recently had the exciting opportunity to attend STEM Day at Cannon Air Force Base, where they explored a wide variety of career pathways connected to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This hands-on experience allowed students to see how classroom learning connects to real-world opportunities right here in our community.

During the visit, students learned about many different careers in the Air Force and discovered that not all careers are Active Duty positions. They met professionals from diverse fields, including pilots, mechanics, construction workers, military police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and many other essential roles that support the mission of the Air Force every day.

Students were able to ask questions, observe equipment, and hear directly from professionals about the education, skills, and teamwork needed for each career. This experience helped students understand the importance of planning for their future and showed them the many possibilities available after high school.

We are grateful to Cannon Air Force Base for welcoming our students and providing such an engaging and educational experience. Opportunities like this help inspire our students to dream big, stay motivated, and see the value of being bilingual in a wide range of careers.

We are proud of our ESL and SLA students for representing our school with curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm!
