Students in Mrs. O'Bannon’s English I class at CHSFA decided to have some fun with the novel they are currently reading, To Kill a Mockingbird. To bring the themes of the story to life, they created an interactive activity inspired by the book’s events and social issues.
The group decided to host a parody called Family Feud: Assumptions Only Edition. The twist was that, just like in Maycomb, the game was never truly fair. The activity was intentionally frustrating because it highlighted the systemic injustice that shaped Tom Robinson’s trial.
Overall, the activity gave students a creative and memorable way to connect with the themes of To Kill a Mockingbird.
