Recap from Regionals:      Chapter in Review Display Level 3 – Isaac Chavira and  Geanna Lopez - In this project we are promoting our chapter and all of its accomplishments and activities this past year.     Chapter Service Project Display  Level 3 – Jazmin Peralez - Her project is over our Pop Tab Drive that we held in January to help the Ronald McDonald House in Albuquerque.     Creed Presentation  Level 3 - Cassandra Golden - How well she can recite the FCCLA creed.     Culinary Knife Skills - Level 2 - Jerimya Landin - He uses the skills used in his prostart class and demonstrates the different techniques of cutting for example Dicing, slicing, Julienne, cubing      Early Childhood Education  Level 3 - Alondra Parez and Milagros Mercadal - In this competition they put together a portfolio and create lesson plans that they would use with preschoolers. They use their knowledge from Child Development, Child care Certification and their work from work experience.     Interpersonal Communications Level 2 - Joaquin Sanchez - He put together a pamphlet and speech about how to resolve conflict within the family.  He is using our FCCLA family's first program to help him with information.     Interpersonal Communications Level 3 - Cassandra Golden - She used her interpersonal communication skills to create a project to help solve miscommunications between peers.     Parliamentary Procedure  Level 3 -  Nana Yaa Hagan, Aidan Nunez, Oluomachi Oparaiheoma-Anaele, Somtochi Oparaiheoma-Anaele, Priscilla Ramirez, Leslie Silva, Daniel Zulueta - This group demonstrates the proper way to run a business meeting using Parliamentary procedure.     Professional Presentation Level 3 - Sadie Mendoza, Chasidee Montano, Apolline Rivera - This group created a speech about the effects of the death of a parent and how that impacts children.     Repurpose and Redesign Level 2 - Bailey Baldock, Emily Bjorklund, Annelise Watson -They created a bear made solely with recycled clothing items and old pillows.  They call it a Precious Pal because you can use the clothing of a deceased loved one to make the bear.     Repurpose and Redesign Level  3 - Roxana Castaneda and Aeowynn Romero - They took plastic bags that everyone has lots of and cut it into strips made plarn and crocheted a reusable bag.

Clovis High School’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students are headed to Albuquerque to take part in the 2024 FCCLA State Conference.

The conference is scheduled for two days and will include competitions, workshops and more.

Clovis High School FCCLA secured 11 team qualifiers earlier this year in competition at the regional FCCLA conference at ENMU Portales.

Students will be competing for the opportunity to represent New Mexico in Seattle, Washington at the FCCLA National Conference in June.

Additionally, two Clovis High School students – Joaquin Sanchez and Somtochi Anaele – are vying for 2024-2025 state officer positions, with elections to be held at the conference.

Clovis High School is proud to hold both the 2023-2024 President and Vice President positions of the New Mexico Chapter of FCCLA, with Daniel Zulueta serving as President and Oluomachi Oparaiheoma Anaele as Vice President.

FCCLA students use their knowledge from the Family Consumer Classes like Child Development, Clothing, Prostart, Culinary, Baking, FCCLA Leadership, food and nutrition.

Through involvement in FCCLA students have a diverse exposure to topics they can carry forward into their lives today and in the future.
