Field Day 2026 was one for the books! ☀️🎉
Yesterday was filled with laughter, teamwork, friendly competition, and so many smiles from our students. It was such a great day to celebrate the hard work our students have put in all year long!

Our incredible students worked tirelessly to bring Beetlejuice Jr. The Musical to life, and their dedication truly shined on stage. From long rehearsals to perfecting every line, song, and scene—these kiddos gave it their all! 💚

On Thursday, May 7, our 7th grade students at Yucca Middle School had an incredible opportunity to bring their learning to life during a special Civics Engagement Day!

As part of their Government unit, students welcomed local leaders from across our community into their classrooms. Through small group conversations, students learned firsthand about public service, leadership, and how decisions are made at the local, state, and federal levels. They asked thoughtful questions, made real-world connections, and gained a deeper understanding of how they can make a difference in their community.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our guest speakers—Brad Bender, Emily Gipson, Justin Howalt, Fidel Madrid, Mike Morris, Donna Mowrer, Harvey Park, Andrea Reeb, Fred Van Soelen, and Pat Woods—for investing their time, sharing their insight, and inspiring our students. Your commitment helped make this experience truly meaningful and impactful.

This week, they went above and beyond to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week by surprising us with sweet treats and lots of smiles. From fun banana-themed surprises to thoughtful gestures, they reminded us just how valued and appreciated we truly are.

Clovis Cross Country Summer Workouts are just around the corner, and all incoming 7th graders through seniors are invited to join. Whether you’re new to running or returning for another season, this is a great opportunity to build endurance, connect with teammates, and get prepared for the fall.

Clovis High School Junior Varsity Wildcadette Dance Tryouts are coming up.

Mandatory clinics will be held May 11 and 12, 2026, from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m., with tryouts on May 14 beginning at 4:15 p.m. in the former CHS Freshman Academy Main Gym (1400 Cameo).

Students who will be in grades 9–12 during the 2026/2027 school year are invited to participate. No experience is necessary. This is a great opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, and be part of an incredible team.

Participants must have a current physical and proof of insurance.

Students who will be in 9-12 grade for the 2026-2027 school year are invited to audition for Color Guard! Auditions will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Auditions will be held at the Marshall 6th Grade Academy Rubber Gym (100 Commerce Way). Enter through the back door to the Marshall Band Hall. It is marked with a red sign next to the loading dock. Follow the signs inside.

Students can register for auditions by scanning the QR code or by visiting https://tinyurl.com/ew77zz9a. Registering is recommended, but not required.

Yucca STUCO invites students to celebrate the end of the school year at our Neon Glow Dance! Join us on Thursday, April 23rd from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Yucca Cafeteria for an evening of music, friends, and fun.

Students are encouraged to wear bright, neon, or white colors to glow under the black lights. Entry is $5 per student (cash or card via GoFan). Concessions, face painting, and glow-in-the-dark items will be available for purchase.

🎶 Celebrating Excellence in Music! 🎶

The Yucca Symphonic Band represented our school with pride at the NMAA State Middle School Band Competition this past Thursday. Competing against 22 middle school bands from across the state, they delivered an outstanding performance and earned an impressive 4th place overall.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and talent these students demonstrated on such a big stage. Congratulations to our musicians and director for this remarkable achievement! 🎺👏

Let’s celebrate the teachers and staff members who make a difference every single day!

We’re inviting students to create short, reel‑style videos sharing:
✨ Why they love their teacher(s)
✨ How a teacher or staff member made learning meaningful or memorable
✨ The positive impact teachers and staff have had on their lives

Project Details:
✅ Videos should be 15–30 seconds
✅ Speak directly to the camera or get creative
✅ Selected videos will be shared on district social media during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8).

🎉 Neon Glow Dance – April 23, 2026 🎉

Yucca STUCO invites students to celebrate the end of the school year at our Neon Glow Dance! Join us on Thursday, April 23rd from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Yucca Cafeteria for an evening of music, friends, and fun.

Students are encouraged to wear bright, neon, or white colors to glow under the black lights. Entry is $5 per student (cash or card via GoFan). Concessions, face painting, and glow-in-the-dark items will be available for purchase.

¡STUCO de Yucca invita a los estudiantes a celebrar el final del año escolar en nuestro Baile Neon Glow! Acompáñenos el jueves 23 de abril de 5:00 a 7:00 PM en la cafetería de Yucca para una tarde de música, amigos y diversión.

Se recomienda que los estudiantes usen ropa de colores brillantes, neón o blanco para destacar bajo las luces negras. La entrada cuesta $5 por estudiante (efectivo o tarjeta por GoFan). Habrá concesiones, pintura facial y artículos que brillan en la oscuridad disponibles para comprar.

Looking for a way to help your child grow as a reader this summer? The New Mexico Summer Reading Program is a great opportunity to build skills, boost confidence, and keep students engaged in learning.
This free four-week program is open to students who have completed kindergarten through 7th grade. Students will work in small groups with an instructor to strengthen reading and math skills in a supportive, encouraging environment.
