Our students showed true Chap pride by working together to serve our community, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to keeping Curry County clean. 🎉 Neon Glow Dance – April 23, 2026 🎉
Yucca STUCO invites students to celebrate the end of the school year at our Neon Glow Dance! Join us on Thursday, April 23rd from 5:00–7:00 PM in the Yucca Cafeteria for an evening of music, friends, and fun.
Students are encouraged to wear bright, neon, or white colors to glow under the black lights. Entry is $5 per student (cash or card via GoFan). Concessions, face painting, and glow-in-the-dark items will be available for purchase.

🎶 Celebrating Excellence in Music! 🎶
The Yucca Symphonic Band represented our school with pride at the NMAA State Middle School Band Competition this past Thursday. Competing against 22 middle school bands from across the state, they delivered an outstanding performance and earned an impressive 4th place overall.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and talent these students demonstrated on such a big stage. Congratulations to our musicians and director for this remarkable achievement! 🎺👏

La Banda Sinfónica de Yucca representó a nuestra escuela con orgullo en la Competencia Estatal de Bandas de Secundaria de NMAA el pasado jueves. Compitiendo contra 22 bandas de todo el estado, ofrecieron una presentación sobresaliente y lograron un impresionante 4.º lugar a nivel estatal.
Estamos sumamente orgullosos del esfuerzo, la dedicación y el talento que demostraron nuestros estudiantes en un escenario tan importante. ¡Felicidades a nuestros músicos y a su director por este gran logro! 🎺👏

On Tuesday, May 5 at 7 p.m., student singers from across Clovis Municipal Schools will come together at The Rock Gym at Clovis High School for a special performance showcasing their talent and hard work.
Performances will feature students from Marshall 6th Grade Academy, Gattis Middle School, Yucca Middle School, the Freshman Academy, and Clovis High School.
Admission is $9 for reserved seating and $6 for general seating. Tickets are available at GoFan.co (https://gofan.co/event/6492675). Proceeds help support competition and travel opportunities for our student musicians.

Calling all future 7th and 8th grade students with an interest in dance.
Gattis and Yucca Middle School Dance Tryouts are coming up for students who will be in 7th or 8th grade next school year. All interested students must attend the required clinic sessions prior to tryouts.
📍 Location: CHS Freshman Academy Main Gym (1400 Cameo)
📅 Clinic Dates:
• Monday, April 27 | 4:30–6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 28 | 4:30–6:00 p.m.
📅 Tryouts:
• Wednesday, April 29 | Begins at 4:30 p.m.
The clinic is mandatory to participate in tryouts.
Students should wear appropriate dance attire and shoes. No jewelry or long nails permitted. Physicals for the 2025–2026 school year will be accepted, but new physicals must be dated after April 1.

- The "Medical History" portion of the physical form must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian before the student arrives.
- Students without parent signatures on file cannot be examined.
Next Steps for Participants:

2. Complete and sign the parent history sections at home.
3. Send the student with the completed paperwork on Saturday, April 25th.

Our 8th graders had an exciting opportunity to tour Clovis High School (CHS) as they prepare for the next big step — becoming freshmen this fall! 🎓✨
During their visit, students explored the campus, learned about academic programs and extracurricular activities, and got a firsthand look at what life will be like at CHS. This experience helps ease the transition from Yucca Middle School and builds confidence as they get ready for high school.
We are so proud of our future Wildcats and can’t wait to see all they accomplish at CHS!

These sessions are designed to guide parents and students through the registration process and provide helpful information about middle school programs and opportunities.
