Why Career & Technical Education (CTE)?

Career & Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the opportunity to take courses in one or more pathways across a wide range of industries and occupations.  CTE prepares students for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies in a real-world, applied context.

CTE students have an opportunity to earn industry certifications or complete dual credit college coursework in a career field while in high school in order to prepare for their next steps.

Career Clusters & Programs of Study

A career pathway is a coordinated program of rigorous, high-quality education and work-related training that aligns to industry needs and advances students in their career of choice. Within careers clusters are programs of study that consist of two or more related courses.
