CLOVIS, N.M. — On Wednesday, April 2, band ensembles from Clovis Municipal Schools participated in the Southeastern New Mexico Music Educators Association (SENMMEA) Music Performance Assessment, held in Hobbs, New Mexico.
All five participating ensembles received the highest possible ratings—“1” (Superior)—in both stage performance and sight-reading categories:
Clovis High School Wind Symphony – 1 (Superior) in Stage Performance and Sight-Reading
Clovis High School Concert Band – 1 (Superior) in Stage Performance and Sight-Reading
Clovis High School Freshman Academy Symphonic Band – 1 (Superior) in Stage Performance and Sight-Reading
Yucca Middle School Symphonic Band – 1 (Superior) in Stage Performance and Sight-Reading
Gattis Middle School Symphonic Band – 1 (Superior) in Stage Performance and Sight-Reading
The assessment, which evaluates musical performance and sight-reading proficiency, is an annual event providing constructive feedback and recognition for student musicians and their directors.
