CLOVIS, N.M. - Four outstanding seniors have been recognized with prestigious scholarships for their academic excellence and future aspirations.
Noah Bender and Emily Nieto have each been awarded the highly competitive Green & Silver Presidential Scholarship from Eastern New Mexico University. Valued at $75,000, this award is granted to only 10 incoming freshmen each year - and both Noah and Emily are among this elite group.
Noah will graduate with an Associate Degree in Biology and plans to continue studying Biology and Pre-Medicine. Emily will graduate with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and will pursue a bachelor’s degree in the same field.
Emma Richardson has received the 2025 Ruth Laughlin Carter Scholarship, a prestigious $8,500 award presented by the Clovis Civic League Foundation. A senior in the Early College program, Emma will graduate with an Associate Degree in Graphic and Media Art from Clovis Community College. She will attend Texas Tech University in the fall to pursue a degree in Business.
This scholarship honors the legacy of Ruth Laughlin Carter, a lifelong New Mexico resident and a dedicated educator who served Clovis schools for 22 years.
Austin Romero has been awarded the Robert Lecil & Bessie Avelyn Bennett Richard Scholarship, a $10,000 award he will use to attend New Mexico Tech.
The Clovis Municipal Schools community celebrates the achievements of these exceptional students and wishes them continued success in their academic journeys.
