For Immediate Release
Clovis, NM - On March 26–27, 2026, the choirs of Marshall 6th Grade Academy, Yucca Middle School, Gattis Middle School, Clovis High School Freshman Academy, and Clovis High School—representing over 350 students—participated in the Southeastern New Mexico Music Educators Association (SENMMEA) Choral Large Group Music Performance Assessment held in Artesia, New Mexico.
Participating ensembles are adjudicated in two categories: Concert Performance and Sight Reading. Each ensemble is evaluated on a 100-point scale, with scores of 90 or above earning a “Superior” rating. Clovis Municipal Schools entered a total of eleven ensembles, and all eleven earned “Superior” ratings in both categories, receiving Sweepstakes Awards.
Additionally, two ensembles qualified to advance to the New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA) State Choir Contest, which will be held on April 15 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
The following ensembles earned “Superior” ratings in both Concert Performance and Sight Reading (Sweepstakes Award):
