Shelly (Grim) Smith, a longtime educator with Clovis Municipal Schools, has been selected for and accepted the position of Parkview Elementary Principal.
Principal of Cameo Elementary School since 2023 – which is slated to be shuttered at the end of this school year in keeping with district consolidation efforts – Smith was first hired in 2006 as a teacher at Parkview Elementay, and has spent her career of 20 years with Clovis Schools. In 2007 she moved to a teaching position at the Arts Academy at Bella Vista, where she remained, teaching fourth and fifth grades until 2019.
Transitioning to middle school for the 2019-2020 school year, Smith taught math at Marshall Middle School until her selection as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at Cameo Elementary in 2021-2022.
A Clovis High School graduate brought to Clovis as an Air Force dependent, Smith is also an alumnus of Wayland Baptist University, from which she holds a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Reading, as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education.
Smith will assume her role as Parkview’s principal for the 2024-2025 school year. The reassignment was created by the retirement of current Parkview Principal Carrie Geisler.
