Clovis Municipal Schools FCCLA Students Advance to State after Strong Regional Performances

CLOVIS, NM — Clovis Municipal Schools is celebrating the success of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students from Yucca Middle School, W. D. Gattis Middle School, and Clovis High School following regional competitions held at Eastern New Mexico University on Feb. 10, 2026. Across all three campuses, 100 percent of participating students qualified for the FCCLA State Conference, scheduled March 29 through April 1, 2026, in Albuquerque.

Competitors participated in a variety of events, including culinary knife skills, repurpose and redesign, and other career-focused competitions. FCCLA Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) events require months of preparation. Students complete detailed research, develop finished products, and build comprehensive presentations, many exceeding 60 slides. These projects demonstrate technical skill, problem-solving, and perseverance.

The FCCLA Region II Conference at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales included 227 students competing in 35 categories across three competition levels.

Clovis High School was represented by 38 FCCLA members competing in 17 events. Freshmen and sophomores competed in Level 2, while juniors and seniors competed in Level 3.
